Document Vault

How to securely store and manage important documents in the BestFarewell vault.

The document vault keeps your important papers in one secure place. Wills, insurance policies, and other estate documents are stored safely and easily accessible when you need them.

What the Vault Stores

  • Wills and trusts
  • Insurance policies
  • Beneficiary designations
  • Healthcare directives
  • Property deeds
  • Power of attorney documents
  • Other important papers

You decide what to upload. The vault is organized by category so you can find documents quickly.

How to Upload Documents

Open the vault from your dashboard. Click “Add document” and choose or drag-and-drop your file. Supported formats include PDF, DOC, DOCX, and common image formats. There are size limits per file—check the upload screen for current limits. Large files may need to be split or compressed.

Organizing Your Documents

Assign documents to categories (e.g., wills, insurance, healthcare). Add optional notes or descriptions to remind yourself what each file contains. You can search and filter to find documents quickly.

Who Can Access

You control who can access the vault. Designate family members or trusted contacts as successors. They can view documents only when you’ve granted access (including after your passing, if you’ve set that up). The vault is encrypted at rest and transmitted securely.

Security and Privacy

Documents are stored with industry-standard encryption. BestFarewell does not access your files for any purpose other than storage and retrieval. Your vault is private and visible only to you and people you explicitly authorize.
