Sharing a Memorial

How to share memorial pages with family, friends, and the public.

A memorial becomes meaningful when the right people can visit it. BestFarewell gives you control over who sees the page and how it's shared.

Public vs. Private

Public memorials are visible to anyone with the link. They can be found through search and shared freely. This works well when you want extended family, friends, and community to visit and leave condolences.

Private memorials are only visible to people you invite. They won't appear in search, and the link won't work for anyone outside your invite list. Use this when you want a smaller, more intimate space.

You can change this setting at any time from the memorial's settings.

Sharing the URL

Every memorial has a unique web address. Copy it from the memorial page or from the share menu. Send it by email, text, or messaging app. Anyone with the link can view the memorial (if it's public) or will need an invitation (if it's private).

Inviting Family to Contribute

Family members you've invited to your BestFarewell account can add photos, stories, and condolences directly. They'll see the memorial in their dashboard and can contribute without needing the public URL. To invite someone, go to Family and use the invite flow for that member.

Social Sharing

When you're ready to share more broadly, use the share options on the memorial page. You can post the link to social media or copy it to share in a group chat or email. The memorial page is designed to load quickly and look good on phones and desktops, so it's easy for people to visit from anywhere.
