Inviting Family Members
How to invite family members to contribute stories, photos, and memories.
Inviting family members lets everyone add their own stories, photos, and memories. Planning and remembering work better when the people who knew your loved one can participate.
Sending an Invitation
From your dashboard, go to Family and select the member you want to invite. Click Invite and enter their email address. BestFarewell sends an email with a secure link to join your family account. They'll be able to sign in or create an account and accept the invitation.
What Invited Members Can Do
Once they accept, invited family members can:
- Add and edit photos on memorials
- Contribute stories and tributes
- Leave condolences
- Help manage family information (depending on their role)
They see the same memorials and family data you do, so everyone stays in sync.
Invitation Expiry
Invitations expire after 7 days. If someone doesn't accept in time, you can send a new invitation from the Family section. Click Re-send Invitation next to their name. They'll receive a fresh email with a new link.
Re-sending Invitations
If an invitation was lost, ignored, or expired, re-sending is simple. Go to Family, find the member, and use Re-send Invitation. There's no limit on how many times you can re-send—sometimes people just need a gentle reminder.
