Coming soon for grief counselors

Support the grief journey between every session.

KinWell is opening a dedicated grief counselor portal with encrypted session notes, between-session mood tracking, therapeutic assignments, and free family accounts. Join the early access list below to be notified when partners can come onboard.

Early access

A counselor workspace for the moments outside the appointment.

The grief support portal is not live yet. We are collecting partner interest now so practices can be reviewed, configured, and ready when early access opens.

Private by default

Encrypted counselor notes, scoped access, and family-facing tools kept intentionally separate.

Built around care

Mood logs, assignments, and milestones help counselors stay present between appointments.

No-cost family invites

Families can receive grief support tools without needing to purchase the full platform.

Practice preview

One view for moods, assignments, milestones, and notes.

Early partners will help shape the counselor workflow before the portal launches more broadly. The goal is simple: keep the clinical workspace calm, private, and useful without turning grief support into another generic CRM.

  • Session notes are private to the approved practice.
  • Families see only their own support tools and assigned work.
  • Counselors can follow emotional patterns without forcing a fixed grief stage.

What is planned

Built for grief counseling practices.

Every planned feature reflects the unique needs of counselors who work with bereaved families through some of life's hardest moments.

Private session workspace

Encrypted notes stay scoped to your practice.

Write session notes that are AES-256 encrypted at rest and in transit. Notes are scoped to your practice only. A family can never read them, and neither can a future counselor.

Mood tracking between visits

Families can log how they are doing before the next session.

Clients log their emotional state after each session from their family portal. You see a rolling history of the last five sessions, with trends that inform your next conversation before it starts.

Therapeutic assignments

Send structured prompts without losing client context.

Send journaling prompts, breathing exercises, or reflection tasks directly to your clients. Assignments are tied to the individual family member so context is never lost.

Grief timeline & goals

Track meaningful milestones without forcing a linear process.

Track meaningful milestones for each client: the first holiday without a loved one, a completed estate task, a breakthrough session. Goals give structure to the grief journey.

Practice dashboard

See who needs follow-up before anyone falls through the cracks.

See all your clients at a glance: upcoming sessions, pending mood check-ins, overdue assignments, and members who may need a follow-up. All in one view.

Free family accounts

Invite grieving families even when cost is a barrier.

Invite grieving families who cannot afford a full subscription. They get immediate access to grief support tools at no cost. You start your work the same day.

Trust & privacy

Designed for sensitive counseling work.

Grief support partners need a calmer, narrower workspace than a general case-management system. The planned portal keeps private notes, family tools, and practice access deliberately separated.

Encrypted notes

Session notes are encrypted and never visible to families or future counselors.

Scoped access

Practice data, family data, and counselor permissions stay separated by default.

Family-first model

Counselors can invite families at no cost so care does not depend on a subscription.

Launch support

Early partners receive setup help, a walkthrough, and a clear launch checklist.

Frequently asked

Questions grief counselors ask before joining.

Is grief support available today?

Not yet. The grief counselor portal is coming soon. Practices should sign up using the form on this page to join the early access list and receive launch updates.

Will session notes be truly private?

Yes. Session notes are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before storage. Families never have access to note content. If your practice ends a client relationship, a future counselor cannot see your notes. Each practice has its own encryption scope.

What will clients (families) actually see?

Families see their own mood history, any assignments you have sent them, scheduled sessions, and their grief timeline milestones. They do not see your session notes or any internal practice data.

Will there be a cost to invite a grieving family?

No. Grief counselors can invite new families at no charge. The family gets a free-tier KinWell account with access to receive assignments, log moods, and use their grief support tools. If they want the full estate planning suite, they can subscribe independently.

How will onboarding work?

Once the grief support portal opens, approved practices receive a direct link to their counselor portal, a quick walkthrough, and the ability to invite their first family.
